I don't know how to start this other than its really starting to hit home with Dad being gone almost two months. I really felt down last night after church and almost to the point of lonliness...I am reconsidering my decision to stay home by myself over Easter Sunday. Mom has offered to pay my plane ticket out there so may take her up on that..just trying to find a decent fare and times I want is another challenge but I think I should be able to find something if I do make the decision.
Reach Out was a success - everyone thought highly of my talk and I got some nice notes from some of the other adult leaders. I really feel like a big part of that group and being there for the weekends means so much for everyone involved. I also got some nice notes of friends expressing their sympathy to Dad...and Tom McCarthy even sent a really nice card....
Today I am planning on getting some errands taken care of as well call that law firm regarding that court date....gonna see if I can negotiate a settlement of some sort....not sure what else to do at this point...
Work tomorrow and Saturday then Palm Sunday...first weekend without Grandma...I do miss her but again like Dad its going to be down the line....I'm dreading the coming months especially when baseball season starts...

I sit here this Friday afternoon getting things together for Reach Out. It has been another whirilwind of a week since Marilyn, then Ruth and Wayne, then Robert came to clean out Grandma's house. In addition, I've been able to take a couple days off to help out. Now its get ready for Reach Out and pray that this weekend goes well.
Last night when everybody left and I was in Grandma's house, I sat down on one of the chairs still left and began to think and remember. What was I feeling? Sad in one sense because an era is over...relief in another sense because my grandma is going out east....but the memories started flooding in...I was sitting facing the front door and remembering when I would be over there on Saturday afternoons and Dad would come in...or the times when I'd be in the living room sitting on the very same chairs watching TV with grandma or having a discussion about something....or in the kitchen in the fridge getting a soda or something to eat...or in the living room sitting around the table with my folks and sometimes siblings enjoying a meal or coffee...it is very empty right now in the house except for a few piles of junk here and there. I wish they would have had time to sell more of the stuff or give more of it away but its their loss. What I need to do is go see grandma next week before they send her out East. It will be a bittersweet time for all involved but she will be getting the care she needs and will be closer to Marilyn and Ruth.
Well now its time to get ready and get things together for Reach Out. Irene really liked my talk so thats a step in the right direction. Not sure of our numbers but I think we'll do just fine. I feel bad for Joyce Griggs for losing her dad....now she joins that elite group that most of us are in. I have to extract that quote I read in the Paul O'Neil book and write it here at some point.
I'll blog more next week when I have some time.
